“PLANT A SEED”. Plant a seed to see a flower grow. To see an idea grow, which in time becomes aspiration and then a project: this is the main theme of the Legor “open day” organized on September 14th.
A Saturday afternoon transformed in a real party, the second of the year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company, after the 22nd June party which took place in beautiful Villa Cordellina. The first venue was dedicated to our partners from all over the world, friends and clients, while this initiative has been a time dedicated to Legor people and their families: an alternative day devoted to eco-sustainability and being together.
The day started with an interview from the kids to our CEO Massimo Poliero, the best chance to express their curiosity about the place where their parents spend most of their time! Following, three sessions of company tours where the families had the chance to delve into the “mechanics” of Legor to get to know the working areas and the productive cycle.
At the same time two recycling labs have been organized: one for the kids dedicated to the use of recycled materials and one for the grown-ups which involved a gardening activity, as a symbol of the main theme of the open day: planting a seed for eco-sustainability. For this purpose we took some crucibles that could not be used anymore, painted by our Sandra, and then reused as vases which now decorate the balconies of Legor people waiting for the first flowers to bloom, as a reminder of this day.
Moreover, a lot of biological food to fill our bellies, an artisanal ice-cream cart and the presence of Pomodoro, a social farm based in Vicenza where disabled people produce and sell ecological goods.
At the end, during the aperitif the band Chiarel&Friends delighted us with their music: not a casual choice since the leader of the band, Marco, is our colleague and on this occasion he showed us his talent as a singer.
What is the deep meaning of this initiative? As Legor Group R&D labs are constantly looking for ways to advance in the scientific field in order to keep up to pace with the market needs and anticipating its demands, so the company as a whole can’t stay behind on important and more and more relevant sustainability topics. Therefore the event has been totally green and the new “No plastic fantastic” challenge has been launched for 2020: the progressive reduction of the use of plastic in Legor. A little seed that we expect to grow and give us fruits!
