PT950 ALLOYS: THE NEW CODES

PT950RUPD: RUTHENIUM-PALLADIUM BASED FORMULATION

  • Fully precious metals based formulation (minimum loss)
  • High whiteness (whiter than Cobased formulations in general)
  • Good surface quality

PT950RU-S3 and PT950RU-S3M: RUTHENIUM-COBALT BASED FORMULATION

  • Easier to cast than regular ruthenium based formulas
  • Cobalt enhances the alloy fluidity and reduces melting point 
  • Good surface quality
  • High protection against cracking
  • Color is better than regular Co-based alloys, thanks to ruthenium content
  • Also available as pre-mixed formulation

PT950CO-S2: COBALT BASED FORMULATION

  • High protection against cracking
  • Excellent choice for casting process, thanks to relatively low process temperatures

PT950RU-S: RUTHENIUM BASED FORMULATION

  • Excellent whiteness
  • Cheaper than Palladium or Iridium based
  • Suitable for most casting applications and for working
  • Available also as PRE-MIXED FORMULA

WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF PRE-MIXED FORMULATIONS?

  • The customer can use platinum returning from refinery services

  • The exact title can be defined by the customer

  • The number of formulations available is much wider than just with binary formulations or low melting formulations

Differently from a traditional master alloy and from a ready-to-use alloy, a pre-mixed formulation contains a part of platinum that allows for a good mixing of high-melting or otherwise immiscible elements (such as ruthenium or iridium).
